Story Time Hiatus

An update on the Story Time schedule: We will be taking a hiatus for all of August, but the story times will resume in September.  We are currently searching for a new Children's librarian, but if we do not find a suitable candidate by September, story times will continue to be led by Ms Kathy and Ms Laura.
Don't forget about your summer reading for school- we have set aside the books in the Children's section on a special cart.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!

An End

The Summer Reading Program came to an end last week, with our final story times and craft projects.  The Junior Jetsetters completed the book Melonhead and the Big Stink by Katy Kelly, and we highly suggest it to any 3rd/4th graders looking for a funny book to read.
The Trailblazers (6th - 8th graders) finished and enjoyed the book The London Eye Mystery by Siobhan Dowd, an exciting mystery told from the perspective of a boy with Asperger syndrome.
We hope you enjoyed the program as much as we did! If you still need to collect prizes, come see us any time.
Congratulations to all of the readers that completed the program!

Harry Potter Week

We have dubbed this week "Harry Potter Week" in honor of the release of the final movie on Friday. We have scheduled two special events: one will be tonight for the 5-8th graders at their regular meeting time of 7-8:30, and the other will be for K-4th graders and will be held on Thursday at 3pm (instead of the Tireless Trekkers meeting). We hope to see you there!

Remember, you must be signed up for the Summer Reading Program to attend these events.

Have a happy Harry Potter Week!

The College Process

Hi Teens,
If you are going into your Junior year of high school in the fall, you have probably started to think about the college search. BHPL has some advice! Check out our new section on the teen's website: http://teensatbhpl.weebly.com/college-prep.html.  There are an unlimited amount of sources out there specifically designed to aid high school students in the college search process, and we've posted a few of them on the site for your convenience.
For high school Seniors who have still not taken the SAT, or who have not yet achieved their desired score- you still have a chance! Check this website to find out when the next SAT will be administered and register for it now!
Good luck!

Volunteers Needed!

Attention teens!
We are looking for new members to join BHPL's Teen Volunteer group. Volunteers will be asked to dedicate a few hours a week to such activities as caring for the garden behind the library, tidying up the shelves, and organizing books for a Book Sale. If you're interested, please contact the group coordinator, Amena Khan, at amena.khan@boontonholmeslibrary.org.
Being a volunteer is rewarding (and easy)! Please help us out!
